Success Story

Ian is a charming, funny, and social person, but due to his support needs, he was not able to integrate into the community throughout most of his life. OFA staff quickly adjusted his day program curriculum to meet his individual needs. They started taking him to site-based parks, where they could teach him how to express his needs, communicate with others and learn social etiquette more effectively.

Today, Ian successfully joins his peers for lunch at restaurants, volunteers in the community, and increased his time looking at books in the library from 45 seconds to an hour. Ian now goes to grocery stores, attends OFA social gatherings and accesses the community in meaningful ways.
